YGLC Committee Position Responsibilities



Chair
     Establish goals and standards.
     Coordinate YGLC efforts and activities 
         Should have high-degree of 
             writing ability.
             people skills.
             ability to create and finish projects.
     Create job descriptions for committee members and sub-committee chairs.
     Solicit and appoint Committee Members.
     Create sub-committees.
     Approve appointments of sub-committee chairs.
     Act as liaison to Education Division Chief.
     Act as advisor to sub-committee chairs.
     Finalize ruling on internal disputes at the Committee Member level.
     Write and send reports as requested to Education Division Chief.
     Review and approve all formal proposals/suggestions/policies/projects before they leave the YGLC.
     Oversee Committee Member activities.
     Review and approve all policies and announcements before they leave the YGLC for publication in print or on the Internet, or are otherwise circulated or put into practice. 
     Meet project deadlines. 
     Document facts and distinguish from opinion or hearsay.


Committee Members
     Support YGLC goals and standards.
         Should have high-degree of 
             writing ability.
             people skills.
             ability to create and finish projects.
     Act as liaison to YG Committee Chairman.
     Coordinate and oversee at least two sub-committees.
     Solicit and appoint sub-committee chairs.
     Act as advisor to all sub-committees.
     Rule on internal disputes from the Sub-Committee Chair level.
     Review and approve all final versions of sub-committee proposals/suggestions/policies/announcements and forward to Chair for final approval.
     Review and approve all sub-committee reports and forward to YGLC Chair as requested.
     Meet project deadlines.
     Document facts and distinguish from opinion or hearsay.

Sub-Committee Chairs
     Support YGLC goals and standards.
         Should have high-degree of 
             writing ability.
             people skills.
             ability to create and finish projects.
     Lead and manage the sub-committee members and activities.
     Solicit and appoint sub-committee members and determine responsibilities.
     Create methods of information sharing and effective communication within subcommittee and with Committee Member, and others as appropriate.
     Rule on internal disputes from within the sub-committee
     Write reports as requested and send to responsible Committee Member two weeks before they are due to YGLC Chair.
     Set project deadlines for Sub-Committee Members.
     Meet project deadlines set by Committee Members.
     Document facts and distinguish from opinion or hearsay.

Sub-Committee Writers and Producers
     Work with Sub-Committee Chairman to accomplish Sub-Committee goals and mission. 
         Should have high-degree of 
             writing ability.
             people skills.
     ability to create and finish projects.
     Fulfill the role on the sub-committee and complete tasks as agreed upon with the Sub-Committee Chairman. 
     Support YGLC goals and standards.
     Contact sources of information for projects.

Sub-Committee Advisors
     Support YGLC goals and standards.
     Act as a resource for Sub-Committee Writers, Producers, and Chairman.
     Give suggestions to Sub-committee Writers, Producers, and Chairman.
     Meet project deadlines set by Sub-committee Chairman.
     Document facts and distinguish from opinion or hearsay.
