I. Minutes from 2000 Annual GSS Meeting:
Previous Secretary unavailable Kenneth Huffines
Current Secretary Jeff Harris unavailable

Officer Reports:
A. Chairman- Jerry Wallace No Report
B. Vice-Chairman- Tom Moltz No Report
C. Treasurer- Brent Aulenbach- Submitted financial statement for year April 2000- April 2001 (see attached statement). Notice the absence of a bill for the GSS Bulletin, which is not complete for this year due to late participation. Also, printing cost for this meeting is not reflected in the budget. Thus, more money is in account for ending April. GSS had 73 members for 2000. Please if writing receipts or taking money for GSS please let Treasurer know what it is for this is reflected in the budget as a miscellaneous $70.00. Budget was approved.
D. GSS Bulletin Editor- Brian Williamson- Articles are finally coming in and he has all but had it printed. Permission from the NSS to reprint the Flora and Fauna Study done in Georgia but this is a huge article and may choose not to reprint. This is especially under consideration due to most GSS Members are NSS members who probably already saw article. Wraparound cover for Bulletin probably this year due to request for more detailed bulletin. Tim White usually gives a good price discount to cavers but is doing the SERA guidebook this year according to Jim Wilbanks.
E. Electronic Archives- Carl Anderson- Reminded people to get a GPS reading in the NAD 27 format if they visit any known cave and report to him phone, email, and mail. New CD for 2001 has 6 new maps and ~12 of the 60x60 topo maps that complete the entire state. Large maps are being scanned to stabilize the deterioration that is ongoing for the older originals.
F. Field Trip Coordinator- Dan Barnick- No trip for 2000 thus no report. Requests for future ridgewalks- none made.

II. Old Business
A. Reprint of 1980's Bulletins- Holly Bunch- In process still acquiring original items but closer. Proofing due to all text entered except for index. Requested help with proofing with no response. Price quotes are being sought with TransAmerica and Kinko's due to short turn around times. We are still shooting for TAG Fall Cave-In for completion.
B. Narrative Files- Nancy Holler-Aulenbach- No report.

III. New Business
A. Secretary- Jeff Harris- Plan is for Jeff to move to Illinois in the near future. No one aware of his position for Secretary or with GSS.
B. GSS Data Base Requests by Researchers- Jerry Wallace. For example they have not acknowledged request up to date. Request by Horton Hobbs Professor of Biology (see enclosed email request to Brent) from November 2000. Discussion ensued with requests by Brian Williamson for resulting data or papers to GSS Bulletin Editor for instance the Flora and Fauna study of Georgia we never got a copy of despite supporting project. Holly Bunch reiterated this be part of written agreement. Jerry Wallace suggested a policy statement but also brought up misuse of Alabama's cave location data for DeLorme topo maps without their permission. Also, Jerry reported Copyrighting data does not work. If it is legitimate request we should give the data out and possibly let the Executive Committee decide on a case-by-case basis.
C. New Caves- Tom Moltz- (see GSS Bulletin 2001) Diver in Bluebird Spring on Pigeon Mountain as part of Karst Inventory. Leads were found but not explored after the diver went about 55feet. Also, new cave in South Georgia near road with 1foot high passage, which continues, and this is old paleo stream passage.
D. Donation to SCCI- Jerry Wallace requested money be donated. Nancy Aulenbach made motion for $100.00 donation and Brian Williamson seconded. The group agreed.
