Most trips to Roppel Cave occur on holiday weekends and often are operated from Cave Research Foundation expeditions.  Accordingly, it is usually necessary to be a CRF Member, which has the added bonus of being able to participate on CRF activities within as well as outside of Mammoth Cave National Park.  For more information about CRF, contact Don Bittle or see the CRF Web Page (link can be found on the Home Page).

However, trips to Roppel Cave can be planned at any time as long as appropriate arrangements are made.  Usually, trips have to be led by an approved trip leader to ensure appropriate attentiveness to our cave owners, adherence to in-cave restrictions, and quality control of our survey.  Most interested cavers are welcome and most leaders will go through extraordinary effort to accommodate those who wish to contribute to the project.
