- Create more awareness and customer loyalty of the bookstore.
- Create/provide membership symbolic devices, provide a service to the members, become a known place for scientific community to find specialized publications.
Marketing Ideas (Strategies):
Take full advantage of the free advertising in the NSS News.
(Creative ads each month for positive reinforcement of books)
Feature more ads to draw attention to the various books in stock.
Create "theme" ads for the holiday season to promote books for gifts.
"Bat Bucks" purchase "X" number of books, get a percentage off of your next purchase.
Add direct mail flyers to the AV slide shows
Use Marketing Analysis committee more
Give 10% to members that use the NSS credit card
Internet use (Strategies):
Utilize the internet to its fullest extent
Increase the presence of products from the bookstore on the internet
Put a monthly "featured" book or books on the web and promote
E-mail renewal ads to members that would not receive the ads because they would not renew by snail mail. Keep the ads to JPEGs less than 100K
E-mail (to those members that want to receive outside ads) the holiday bookstore ad. (Give member option to NOT have this type of thing sent to them)
Possibly link our NSS bookstore site a link to other organizations such as the sierra club, and theirs to ours?
