Below is an attempt to quantify some the effort necessary to work the committees and assignments attached the EVP position as well as keep a handle on some of the caving related topics on a local and regional level. These are email amounts from my home account over the last 33 months and do not include emails from work (minimal), phone calls, SPAM or mailings. I know some committee chairmen putting in larger efforts
The goal is to give prospective EVP candidates some idea where the activity is. However, as we all know, all emails are not created equal. 9,609 were EVP/Board related* or 291 per month.
I have thrown in some other related categories for overall comparison just for grins. Quite often the two intermingle. I do not have immediate access to the emails containing the first two months as EVP. My filing system has "evolved" over the last three years so some numbers are not broken out independently.
So here is how time has been allocated in the EVP position.
