ACT SECTION 61 — FEDERAL LIAISON

 

61-502 Liaison Committees 11-7-92

As Cooperating Agreements or Memorandums of Understanding are signed between the NSS and agencies of the federal government or other national or international organizations, a Liaison Committee for each agreement shall be established in the Department of the President. The chairman of such a committee shall also be known as the NSS's Liaison to the other group. The Liaison shall be the point of contact through which official communications will flow between the NSS and the organization or agency. The Liaison Committees shall be responsible for implementing the provisions of the Agreements and Memorandums, including the promotion of policies that assist in protecting and understanding delicate cave resources and programs to improve relations between the agencies and organizations and NSS members.

61-669 Government Liaison Committee 6-30-00

The Government Liaison Committee is formed in the Department of the President to act as liaison with federal and state agencies, to administer and create memorandums of understanding, to act as a contact point for those agencies with the NSS on broad range issues, and to coordinate NSS/agency-related activities. The agencies include, but are not limited to the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management.

The National Park Service Liaison Committee is the Department of the President is disbanded.

61-676 NSS-KWI Liaison Committee 6-30-00

The NSS/KWI Liaison Committee is established in the Department of the President per the Memorandum of Understanding between the Karst Waters Institute and the NSS. (Appendix AQ)
