Policy for Instructor Recertification

February 16, 2005

NCRC instructor certification shall be valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of certification/recertification. To recertify, an Instructor must have taught during at least one (1) Level 1 or higher event during the previous three years, and must successfully complete a written test over NCRC curriculum and policies.

NCRC Instructors are held individually responsible for ensuring they meet recertification requirements.

Annual curriculum updates and testing opportunities shall be made available in association with NCRC national seminars, and may be offered regionally at the request of Regional Coordinators (subject to availability of evaluators).

The Training Coordinator, in collaboration with the Education Board, will identify experienced instructors to serve as instructor-trainers and evaluators.

[Note that existing policy requires that all NCRC instructors maintain NSS membership.]

This policy is in accordance with actions of the NCRC Board of Regional Coordinators, February 12, 2005.
