Welcome to the WVU Student Grotto!

The West Virginia University Student Grotto is a caving organization located at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Our Mission

The Mission of the West Virginia University Student Grotto is to promote safe and responsible caving to the students of West Virginia University and to further both the sport of caving and the scientific study of caves.

Meetings

Meetings take place every Wednesday at 8:00PM, room 125 Brooks Hall (new Geology Building) of WVU's downtown campus during the school year. Check the Daily Athenaeum for schedule changes and check with members for meeting times when school is not in session.

News

Congratulations to the new Grotto officers for 2009/2010: President Abby Hohn, Vice-President Gayle Suppa, Treasurer Tom Lilly, and Secretary Jataya Taylor!

Due to concerns about White-Nose Syndrome in bats, the WVU Student Grotto has decided to suspend all Grotto caving activity until further notice.

Fund Raising

Help WVUSG support cave rescue and conservation by purchasing books, toys, videos, and electronics through this Amazon.com link. 5% of the purchase goes to WVUSG, and this money is donated to the Mountaineer Area Rescue Group and the West Virginia Cave Conservancy.
