Kyle Voyles and I completed installing a trail kiosk at the parking lot to Bloomington Cave. The sign is a two panels, 40 by 45 inches, that includes an update map of Bloomington Cave showing the 5 marked trails through cave, safety and conversation information, and a description of the Graffiti Removal Project.
The cave's situation continues to improve. No significant graffiti has been added to the cave since the end of the Graffiti Removal Project. Folks seems to be loving the routes through the cave. Larger amounts of visitors are coming with helmets and spending long amounts of time exploring beyond the normal route of seeing the bottom of the Big Room.
Just before leaving, measurements were taken so that the materials can be purchased to install a gate expected as early as November 2006. A Cave Management Plan is expected to be completed by mid-summer.
