Madhouse Caves/Professor Buss
Saturday, October 22nd 2005 - Duane McCully
On Trip: Robert Cranney, Brandon Kowallis, Duane McCully

After about an hour of steep, moderate bushwacking we arrived at the Madhouse Caves. Since I am trying to learn surveying, we decided to survey South Madhouse Cave as an educational project. Brandon sketched plan while I did profile and we both did redundant data collection using Auriga. At a point it gets tight so Rob went to tour North Madhouse while we finished up the survey.

After a couple of hours we were finished with the survey. We traversed across the mountain at approximately the same level looking for other features. We ran across a well visited cave that we presume to be Professor Buss Cave and we poked around inside for a few minutes. We wanted to get down before dark so we cruised down the mountain.

I followed this up with a trip to Brandon's work for a tutorial on processing the data through compass and bringing that data and the survey sketches into Adobe Illustrator. I haven't worked on the map since because I've been spending too much time working on this web site.
