We had an excellent trip to marmot cave. the temperatures were perfect for a long hike. Several good leads on the way were discovered and GPSed. Our old friend the bushytailed woodrat was home again and watched curiously as we rigged the ropes for the descent. while in the bottom passages surveying, a deer mouse fell down the natural trap and nearly hit me landing on the ropes at the bottom and breaking his legs.
"Rock! ....Err ....Mouse!" Several interesting animal remains were documented and photographed in the Tomb of the Fallen pit. the high leads were explored again to determine if they can be pushed farther and a preliminary map was sketched. The wind on the way out was gale force strong and made side sloping very difficult. the trees were whipping around like a cartoon or something.
