North Springville ridgewalk
Friday, August 21st 2009 - Jeremy Westerman
Location: springville hills Trip Leader: Jeremy Westerman On Trip: Jeff Westerman Hiked six hours checking every shadowed pocket on the numerous limestone exposures well up into bighorn sheep country. Discovered a good cave but requires digging to widen entrance tunnel after hiking far in so not sure it will ever be pushed. on the way down we checked out "rocky bottom cave" apparently a well known cave with a very generic name in little rock canyon that had long narrow passage for a few hundred feet. Plenty of cave vandal signatures and cave idiot arrows were observed in this interesting little splitter. talus skiing is the only method of descent from far up on the mountain in the gullies between the ancient rock fins. Not the same as carving powder, but still faster than hiking.
