An interesting guide to some of Utah's past history. Nearly all of the ghost towns described are related to mining activities.

Several of the ghost towns described are not ghost towns at all and have never been. Rather, they are just small towns that have a lot of history. For example, Spring City, where I lived for many years, currently has a larger population than the peak of 1250 listed in the book.
