The
Salt Lake Grotto was
formed in October 1952 by Dr. William R. Halliday as the 41st Grotto of the
National Speleological Society.
Its purpose is to promote cave conservation,
safety among cavers, education, and fellowship among those interested in caves.
Meetings
Meetings are held monthly at the Anderson-Foothill Library,
1135 South 2100 East, Salt Lake City,
on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Cave Conservation
The
Salt Lake Grotto is
committed to cave conservation. Many aspects of the cave
environment cannot be recovered once damaged. We organize
and participate in
educational programs, cave management plans, and cave cleanup and restoration.
We welcome all who are interested in contributing to this effort.
