Every month, various grotto members can be found crawling around in one hole or another, all over the United States and the world. This is a list of current and past events either organized, supported, or attended by grotto members. Since many SFBC often attend CRF trips and events, those were also included.

If you are interested in participating in the CRF research program at Lava Beds, Mineral King, or Sequoia/Kings Canyon, please contact the CRF Expedition Leader to see if your skills and experience are appropriate.

If any of these events sound interesting, drop on by the next meeting for more information and introduce yourself, or send an email sfbc@caves.org and you will be put in touch with the trip leader. Meetings are free to the public, but you may also fill out an online membership form to join. Keep in mind that the dates and trips below are tentative, and may change without notice. As always, the trip leader has the final say on who can join a trip.

If you are a current SFBC Member, you may access the full trip schedule with contact information here.

* CRF labeled trips fall under the auspices of The Cave Research Foundation (CRF) an Institutional Member of the NSS. CRF trips are project oriented trips. They require varying levels/categories of skills from novice through advanced and depend upon an individual trip's goals and its associated cave environment. Some typical trip goals are surveying, restoration, data acquisition for geological studies and other, similar, activities that support the scientific study of caves. If you are interested in participating in a CRF sponsored trip, please contact the indicated trip leader directly. More information on the CRF may be found at http://www.cave- research.org.
