Al Collier led Palmer High School students on an informational and recreational restoration trip into Cave of the Winds. This experience was just a part of the students senior seminar and we were glad that they have an interest in caving and checked their claustrophobia at the gate. Students spent the evening learning about caves and the cave environment. Everyone went back into the remote part of the cave and got good and muddy. The students cleaned formations and flowstone and learned how Al repairs broken speleothems. The students spent the night inside the cave and we all had a great time. Also on hand for the trip were Dan Sullivan, Mike Frazier, Scott Sullivan, and Chris Norville.
