Cave Manegment

Helping to preserve and keep the caves pristine.

What is cave management? What does it involve?

Cooperative projects with the CRF (Cave research foundation), other grottos, various federal agencies. These usually involve mapping, cleanups, resource cataloguing, monitoring for degradation of the resource & restoration, etc. Why we do it: Caves are unique environments that contain a multitude of sensitive and non-renewable resources, making management of them difficult without cooperation from the land mangers and owners. Subsequently, we try to enlist the cooperation of Federal agencies and private owners, by showing them that caves need protection and a pro active management plan as well.
