The
Grotto has various members who are skilled in many different
sports. Listed below are just a few. Why not take advantage
of this expertise and call or email someone.
CAVING

Nag member Andi Hunter has moved to New Mexico to attend graduate
school. She is participating in Biological Research with Diana
Northrup at Lechuguilla, and she also frequents the Guads
in Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico on restoration trips.
Email her at andi@unm.edu
and you might be able to hook up for a trip.
MOUNTAIN
BIKING
Christopher Paul, our "Grotto Guru" and resident
mountain biker is always looking for people to ride the beautiful
trails of Sedona. If your interested, contact Christopher.
BE FOREWARNED. Christopher is real good, and some of the trails
are very technical and can literally be death defying.
KAYAKING
AND RAFTING
Todd Ensign put together a very successful trip down the mighty
Colorado last fall and is planning another one soon. If you
are interested in events such as kayaking and rafting, give
our resident kayaker's, Todd Ensign and Jessika Thomas a buzz.
Also, they are experienced wilderness backpackers, as are
all the others on this list.
CAVING, RIDGE WALKING, POSSIBLE DIGS
Larry Zimmer, (our Grotto Chairman), and Roy Barton, (the
Activities Chairman), are out and about almost every weekend
caving or looking. If your interested give them a hoot
or a holler. I'm sure they will welcome the company, and they
are great guys, and lots of fun too.
ROCK
CLIMBING
Rock climber, llama owner, straw bale house builder and our
Conservation Chairman Chris Dunn, recently climbed the
Muir Wall of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, California.
The trip spanned over a six day period, with them bivying
on the wall. Chris is an experienced rock climber, having
climbed the Salathe Wall of El Capitan before, and many other
climbs as well. Read
his cryptic and poignant revelation of adventure
, written (just after his return), to let his friends know
he survived. If your interested in world class rock
climbing, give Chris an email introduction, and maybe you
can swap tales. Read this sad tale of my near epic on the
Muir with Jimmy Gaun.
QUILTING
& SHOOTING (in that order)
Bob and Laura Bellospirito are our resident
quilting and firearms experts. Laura is in the process of
having a book on quilting published and will soon be catapaulted
into the limelight of the quilting world. Naturally, such
a position must be accompanied by guns; lots of guns. You
can't quilt without a .45 at your side. If you would like
to quilt a masterpiece or learn about firearms, Bob and Laura
are your fearless guides. Write to Bob at wecave2@sedona.net
and write to Laura at wesew2@hotmail.com
