Northern Arizona Grotto, (NAG) has a "Cooperative Agreement" with Grand Canyon National Park, (GRCA) to participate with GRCA in projects relating to cave research, monitoring, restoration, surveying, and exploration. A $5000 grant from Grand Canyon National Park has been awarded to NAG in order to further our mutual project goals. In order to protect the membership and the federal agencies we will be working with, a $1,000,000 liability insurance policy has been acquired by the grotto.

NAG is the Arizona caver contact for these projects. If you are a grotto member, or an Arizona caver, and wish to participate in these projects, please email James Bain, the Nag Cave Core Team Leader for GRCA Caving Projects. Email: jbain@infomagic.com.

If you have expertise in a particular discipline, are a caver or wish to become one, and want to join the Northern Arizona Grotto or to participate in projects, please fill out the membership application on the membership page.

If you are not a grotto member and wish to pursue research independently in the Grand Canyon and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, you can request an, Application Procedures for Research and Collecting Permits from,

A list of the Roles and Responsibilities, and the accompanying  Task Activity/Workplan is included on the forms page.

NAG forms for Project work with the grotto, NPS, or USFS, or to create your own project, can be downloaded from the forms page . A copy of the completed form must be submitted to the grotto for archival purposes, and also to the NPS or USFS.
