George Stamplis and John Wilkerson attended one of the regularly
scheduled cleanup trip to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. They reported
they walked nearly 14 miles in the cave, hauling bags, lumber,
cables and lights.
Forty or fifty years ago someone hauled all the stuff into the
cave
to create trails, which are now being removed in order to return some
of the cave back to its original state, or as close to that as it can
get.
Another Mammoth clean up is scheduled sometime in January 2000.
Please contact John Wilkerson
for more information.
