Regular Meeting

March 25, 2008

The March meeting of the James River Grotto was held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Warren House ground floor activity room at Lynchburg College.

Board Meeting:

The board meeting began at 6:36 PM. Board members present were Mike Frazier, Paul Stern, Melanie Stern, and Harry Sowers. At the board meeting it was decided to pay the $153.50 insurance fee for Bob Wray to run a tree climbing program for the 2008 Fall VAR. Also discussed were the pitfalls to doing t-shirts for the Fall VAR.

General Meeting:

The general meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM. LC Student member Jennifer Cullom was also in attendance.

Welcome Visitors: There were no visitors.

Trip Reports: Paul Stern and Harry Sowers told about their Mammoth Cave Restoration trip.

Finance Report: None (since Chuck was on vacation).

Safety & Techniques: No report

Website: Webmaster, Melanie Stern reported that the new website changes are basically complete.

Trips and Events:

A trip is planned to Norman Cave (Chuck's favorite) on Saturday, April 19. We now have a membership with yahoo groups to assist in getting out all of the latest news on trips and events. Sign up to stay up to date.

General Discussion:

More details regarding the Fall VAR were discussed as well as the latest on cave closings due to WNS.

Meeting Adjournment:

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.

Program:

The planned program on Mammoth Cave Restoration was postponed for a later date.
