JRG Meeting Minutes

Regular Meeting

The December meeting and Christmas Party of the James River Grotto was held on Saturday, December 08, 2007 at the home of Paul and Melanie Stern in Lynchburg, VA.

JRG members present were Mike Frazier, Harry Sowers, Larry Sowers, Paul and Melanie Stern, Mark Morton, Matt Lair and Chuck Waller. Meredith Morton and Dalphine Waller were also in attendance. Everyone who could not make it to this meeting missed a great evening of food, fellowship, cave pictures, good stories and Dirty Santa.

General Meeting:

We have just received the DVD that we ordered from On Rope One titled "Single Rope Ascending Systems".

$36.00 was received at the meeting for the use of our helmets on a recent cave trip.

The cave trip to Organ Cave has been moved from Saturday, Jan. 12 to Sunday Jan. 13, 2008. Details to be determined.

Paul Stern is putting together a ski trip to Snowshoe, WV in February 2008. Contact Paul for details.

The JRG Board Members for 2008 are Mike Frazier, Matt Lair, Paul Stern, Melanie Stern, Harry Sowers, Larry Sowers and Chuck Waller.

Blue Ridge Grotto has located a site to host the Fall 2008 VAR. JRG will be working with BRG as a co-host. Details will be distributed as they develop. We will need a lot of help from James River members to help pull this off.

meeting and Christmas Party at their home again this year.
