Regular Meeting

April 29, 2008

The April meeting of the James River Grotto was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Warren House ground floor activity room at Lynchburg College.

Board Meeting:

The board meeting began at 6:40 PM. Board members present were Mike Frazier, Matt Lair, Chuck Waller, Larry and Harry Sowers. There was no business to discuss at the meeting.

General Meeting:

The general meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM. Members present were Whes Spangler and Robbie Donovan. LC Student member Laura Bianca was also in attendance.

Welcome Visitors: There were no visitors.

Trip Reports: Larry and Harry Sowers told about their Mammoth Cave Restoration trip.

Previous Meeting Minutes Update: None

Finance Report: The current checking balance is $3,049.63.

Committee Reports:

Conservation: Whes Spangler had updated information on WNS.

Education: No report

Membership: No report

Safety & Techniques: No report

Website: No report

Trips and Events:

The April cave trip to Bone Norman was canceled. A trip is planned to Porter's Cave (Paul's favorite) on Saturday, May 31. This is a join trip between BJG and JRG so space is limited. Contact Paul Stern for details. The Spring VAR is June 6,7 and 8. Check the website for info.

General Discussion:

More details regarding the Fall VAR were discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
