Vertical: Only if I have to. Unlike Bill Foot and Howard Kirkland, vertical was never my favorite thing.  Crawling in wet, slimy mud was a much higher priority.

Favorite Cave: Porters Cave, Bath County, VA.  We continue to survey in there trying to find the bitter end. My first cave was Hell Hole.  My last cave 2009 was Freisenhahn Cave, Austin, TX.
