Who We Are

The Flint River Grotto is a Tallahassee-based cave exploration and conservation organization. We are a chapter of the Huntsville-based National Speleological Society, the largest cave interest organization in the U.S.

The FRG allows local cavers to pool resources, plan trips and share experiences in caving. The grotto meets on a regular basis and leads occasional "novice" trips for beginners.

As a grotto we also enjoy above ground activities such as paddling and camping. We are lucky to be located in an area with many beautiful rivers and creeks that offer a multitude of diverse flora and fauna. With several trips planned each year we are able to see and experience all the area has to offer.
