Conservation Chairperson - Stuart Daw
Stuart with ETG members Lee and Jeannie Trowbridge at a conservation clean-up of New Mammoth Cave. East Tennessee Grotto and the Tennessee Nature Conservancy jointly manage New Mammoth for the owner.

Conservation is an important facet of responsible caving. The education of our members and establishment of a conservation mindset helps protect the caves. Cave cleanup trips, educational programs and the monitoring of grotto activities are just a few of the things ETG does to support cave conservation. ETG also supports various cave related conservation groups.

Adopt-A-Highway Coordinator - Anne Elmore

ETG is a member of the Tennessee Adopt-A-Highway program. ETG is responsible for the section of highway that runs through Grassy Cove in Cumberland County, TN. The Grassy cove area has a high density of caves and is a very popular caving area. Conservation efforts of this type not only help protect caves but also promote good landowner relations.
