This cave is labeled PERMIT ONLY for all senses of the term due to the following reason (s).

• Landowner Request

•    The land owner is requesting at this time for all cavers to request cave access with land owner relations director.  The cave is on private property and it is common courtesy for cavers to gain permission before entering the private land the cave is situated on. 

ESSO Grotto continues to work hard with CCSRP and area landowners on establishing a working relationship, something that takes years to develop.  This relationship at times gives us access to CLOSED & PERMIT ONLY caves for specific reasons such as restoration work, bat counts, educational agendas, NCRC rescue training lessons, special scheduled trips, etc.  It is important before venturing onto private or state land to establish proper permits and permission.  This enables local cavers to continue to work with local landowners and state land management.
