Facilities Information

General

fairgrounds picture The Mother Lode Fairgrounds are within easy walking distance of downtown Sonora. All regional activities will take place at the fairgrounds - from meetings to camping to partying! This will also be the staging area for cave trips and other activities.

Camping

camping facilities The Fairgrounds features an RV Park with electrical and water hookups and a dump station. Of course, tent sites are also available as well. Either way, campsites are $20 per vehicle, per night. You will be able to camp with your vehicle for the utmost convenience. The campground even has showers so you can clean up after your hard day of caving. Make sure you bring a table and chairs though, just to make sure that you have them when you want them.

Sorry, but no bikes or skateboards. Their rules, not ours.

Meetings

meeting hall The Western Region meeting and auction will take place in Manzanita Hall.  In addition, the Western Cave Conservancy will be hosting their exquisite caver dinner here. Hodag will make their appearance later in the evening for fun times and a song fest.

Food

This year the food will be provided by our Cave Conservancies as a fundraiser! The Cave Conservancy of Hawai`i will be providing simple breakfasts. The Western Cave Conservancy will be hosting dinner. If you would like to participate in the dinner, we strongly recommend that you sign up ahead of time on our Registration Form -- we will continue to sell dinner tickets on-site, but cannot guarantee that we can accommodate everybody.

If your tastes lead toward other fare, there is plenty to be found within a short distance, from Perko's to French cuisine! Check out this Sonora Dining Guide.

Hotels/Motels

There is also plenty of lodging available in Sonora for folks who need (or want) a more plush place to stay; see the Sonora Downtown Guide for more information.
