Aug. 6th Stanislaus Grotto's Annual Cave City Dig Project & BBQ The day started with Mike W. and kids, Courtney and Michael heading over to Columbia about 8:00am to pick up Greg W. to take to the BBQ. Dale and Sherry would be coming later. After a short stop at the store to get BBQ stuff the four headed for Cave City. They arrived at about 9:00am to find..... of course.... that no other cavers were around. So after an hour's wait Tom L. showed up and the others slowly started to arrive. By about 4:00pm that afternoon there were approx. 30 Cavers that had shown up for the days activities. Columbia had an excellent turn out of 10 grotto members plus 4 affiliate members. The days activities included digging in the cave, cheese and wine tasting, mud sculpting, BBQ and drinks, belly dancers and of course the ever popular Dave Bunnell slide show! And of course.... caving!!!! Courtney, Michael, Tom and Greg were lucky enough to have Jodi lead them through the wild tour. Thank you Jodi. The fun went late into the night and a good time was had by all. So thank you to the Stanislaus Grotto for their gracious invite and to John Fairchild for the use of his facilities.
