On Wednesday June 22nd, Tony Williams, Mike W., Courtney W., and Mike Jr. went to two caves. The first "Old Boulder Sink", which is a approx.120' deep pit with some great carving and flowstone, along with some draperies and isolated pockets of helectites. Anyone entering needs to be cautious of the bones on the main floor (Animal, not Human). There were quite a few beetles, one frog, and one gopher snake at the bottom that we had to leave because we had nothing to bring them out in. The air was good so all four made it down to explore the cave and take some pics. "Its not the most photogenic cave!" Mike and the kids ascended the cave in about 15 minutes each, while Tony took only 4 minutes." Iíve got to get some of those rocket shoes he hides in his bag!"

The next cave we went to was "Fenceline Cave", a small 50' pit cave that is actually well decorated for the size of the cave, it has a lot of stals. and draperies. Tony and the kids had no problem getting down or up, but it seems that the rainy year we have had made the boulders in the entrance swell so I had a tougher time getting in and out this time, as compared to 18 years ago when I first went in the cave. We rescued one frog from the bottom of the cave and saw one Townsend long eared bat. It was just a quick half day of caving, but like I always say "caving is caving", Itís just good to get underground.
