2006 SERA Winter
Business Meeting Overview
By: Brian Roebuck (Normandy, Tennessee)
The 2006 SERA Winter Business Meeting was the start of a great weekend for
all that attended. I am still amazed with the enthusiasm and excellence the
members of Central Alabama Grotto demonstrated while hosting the meeting.
Everyone was very pleased with the meeting place, the refreshments, the
entertainment, the guest speaker, and of course the banquet at the end of a
great day. I personally want to thank each and every member of CAG for the
wonderful meal and the superb service during the banquet. It was a true
touch of class and elegance that I have not enjoyed in previous banquets
anywhere. Please join me in a big thank you to CAG for this effort! The
weather was certainly an issue affecting the attendance for this meeting.
Snow, ice, sleet and super cold temperatures surely kept some of those who
had planned to attend at home. There were moments when many of us had
difficulty traveling to the meeting in the freezing rain, sleet, and snowy
conditions. Regardless the snow falling in Sewanee was beautiful and
combined with the low temperatures made for a true WINTER business meeting.
It was one to remember.

Thank You CAG
By: Martha Mills (Sewanee, Tennessee)
I would like to let the Central Alabama Grotto know that I personally
think they did a great job hosting the SERA Winter Business Meeting. The
facilities, food and program were all very good . . . no one went hungry.
The cheese cake was awesome. Their report on the plans for the SERA Cave
Carnival this year sounds like it too will be an excellent even . . .
these guys go all out on everything they do.

Michael & CAG,
Thanks for the GREAT hospitality on Saturday. I made it home fine and before dark, the roads were clear. I could have stayed for some of that good smelling food had it not been bad weather! Oh well... Maybe next time! Our total book sales were $545.00 and 4 new NSS Members (all from your grotto) at $97.00. This is more than we did last year with a bigger crowd! Stephanie is happy! The NSS is happy! See you at the SERA Carnival, sounds like its going to be a fun event. Let us know if you guys need anything, I'll add the flyers to the new members.
WOW! What great kind words and remarks! CAG should be
proud! I (Michael Gilbert) would also like to add my thanks to the list. Not
only did we have 13 CAGers attend and work the SERA WBM hosted by us!, these CAG
members worked without hesitation. In many cases, "What else do you need me to
do?", was heard! Thanks to all of you... With an extra special thanks to Joe
Sharit and Magz Sims for their great meal planning, preparing, and guidance for
all CAGers that worked this event. And also...Nathan Gatlin for making the
longest drive and holding down the registration area and doing whatever else
needed to be done at the time.
