NSS Video Section
Welcome to the NSS Video Section. The NSS Video Section was chartered in 1990 with the goal of promoting the development of video presentations of caves and caving-related activities and to improve cave video techniques and equipment. The Video Section is also a focal point for cavers that are interested in all phases of making videos in caves. The Video Section can help cavers that are new to the field learn about required equipment, which includes camcorders, lighting systems, editing setups, and computer technology. The video Section is also used as a 'clearing house' for coordinating video projects (see the section about current projects that members are working on). The Video Section also helps in the stocking and distribution of cave videos for the NSS AV Library . The section hosts presentation sessions at NSS conventions.

How to Join the Video Section
The Video Section is open to all. There are no dues. To join the Video Section, just send a note to the Video Section Treasurer with your address, email, and a short biography of yourself. Members also receive an annual member list.
Please note that the section is in the throes of switching from paying dues ($5.00/year) to not paying dues, mainly because the Video Section newsletter (Cavideo) has not been published for 3 or 4 years. The Video Section Web page has not been updated to reflect this changing scenerio yet.

Video Section Meetings
The Video Section meets once a year, at the annual NSS Convention. The day and time has typically been on Tuesday of the convention week, starting at 9:00 am . The meeting usually adjourns at noon . A short business meeting usually starts things off, with reading of last years minutes, unfinished and new business issues, and election of officers. The meeting then goes into informal mode with lots of techo-rap, techniques trading, equipment show-off, and viewing/critiquing members' videos.
