National Cave Rescue Commission (NCRC)

Education Division, under the Administrative Vice President

"The Rescue Commission (NCRC) serves as an advisory, training, developmental, and coordinating agency to work with cavers, government agencies, and rescue teams. The Commission provides training programs and will assist in solving specific cave rescue problems. They will also develop or evaluate cave rescue plans and resources."

The National Cave Rescue Commission (NCRC) is the NSS special commission on cave rescue policy and operations. It provides cave rescue training opportunities, develops cave rescue curricula, serves as a liaison with cave rescue and other rescue organizations, and maintains national and regional cave rescue equipment caches. The NCRC is NOT a functional rescue group, although many of the persons serving in the Commission are members of rescue teams in their individual regions.
